The application of solid lubricants in cutting lubrication (IV)

due to the excellent tribological properties of self-lubricating materials under special working conditions, it has attracted widespread attention and has become an important development direction in the field of material science research through the connection of 1-series transmission head structure and photoelectric encoder installed on the top of measuring device. At present, there are two main methods to realize tool self-lubricating in the cutting process: ① using the tribochemical reaction under high cutting temperature, a reaction film with self-lubricating effect is formed on the surface of tool material in situ; ② The solid lubricant is directly added to the tool material to realize the self lubrication of the tool. Adding solid lubricant is an important way to prepare self-lubricating materials. The commonly used solid lubricants include the operating procedures and precautions of MoS2, hBN, H3BO3 mortar tensile testing machine, tas2, WS2, etc. and some soft metals (Ni, W, Al, Ti, Co, etc.), and their friction coefficient with metal materials can be reduced to 0.1 ~ 0.2, only 1/4 ~ 1/2 of ordinary tool materials. Solid lubricants have the characteristics of high bearing limit, good high-temperature chemical stability, small physical property changes and so on, and have good lubrication performance under special working conditions. The solid lubricant is added into the tool material matrix as an additive to form a composite tool material, which can form a continuous solid lubrication layer on the tool surface by taking advantage of the characteristics of easy dragging and low friction coefficient of the solid lubricant, so that the tool material can obtain self-lubricating characteristics. This kind of self-lubricating tool material has good high-temperature friction performance, can adapt to the cutting temperature range above 1200 ℃ and a wide cutting speed range, and can withstand high loads, and can better meet the strict requirements of advanced manufacturing technologies such as high-speed cutting, dry cutting, hard cutting and difficult to machine material processing for tool materials

the addition of solid lubricants will have two effects on the performance of tool materials: on the one hand, solid lubricants can drag on the friction surface to form a lubricant film that recognizes its own advantages and disadvantages, so as to improve the contact state of the friction interface and reduce friction and wear; On the other hand, the dispersion of solid lubricants in tool materials may lead to the decline of mechanical properties of materials. Therefore, in order to ensure the sufficient content of solid lubricant to form a continuous lubricating film, so as to achieve stable lubrication, and at the same time to ensure that the physical and mechanical properties of tool materials do not decline significantly, it is necessary to make a reasonable comprehensive balance between their physical and mechanical properties and self-lubricating properties. Because this kind of self-lubricating tool material always contains solid lubricant, the tool always has self-lubricating function in the whole life cycle, and the tool material has self-lubricating ability in a wide temperature range (low-speed to high-speed cutting)

6. Conclusion

cutting fluid lubrication is the most traditional lubrication method in cutting processing and the most widely used lubrication method in production practice, but cutting fluid is only effective in the range of low cutting temperature. The application of solid lubricant in cutting fluid greatly improves the lubrication characteristics, bearing capacity and temperature adaptability of cutting, improves the quality of machined surface, and greatly improves the performance of cutting fluid under harsh machining conditions. Applying solid lubricant to coated tools to prepare coated tools with lubrication function can improve the friction performance of tools, which has higher service life and lower friction coefficient than tools with hard coating alone. Coating the tool surface with lubricating coating is one of the most promising lubrication methods. At present, it is developing rapidly at home and abroad, but the lubricating coating in the coated tool is difficult to supplement in the cutting process. Once the lubricating coating is worn or falls off, lubrication failure will occur. Therefore, from the current situation, the direct economic losses caused by cutting process account for the United States, Japan The most promising lubrication technology in the European Community and other countries, which accounts for about 6% to 8% of the total national production each year, may be self-lubricating cutting tools. It has excellent friction reduction and anti-wear effects, and can save cooling and lubrication systems, reduce equipment investment, reduce processing costs, reduce resource consumption and prevent environmental pollution caused by cutting fluid. It can be used in high-speed cutting, dry cutting Hard cutting and machining of difficult to machine materials have broad application prospects. Because the application of liquid lubrication will cause serious pollution to the environment in the manufacturing, use, treatment and discharge of cutting fluid, and it accounts for a large proportion of the processing cost. With the requirements of people on the environment and processing cost, its application will be strictly limited, so the solid lubrication method will be widely used in the future
